The New York Mets have signed reigning AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander to a $86M 2-year contract with a vested option for year 3. After Jacob deGrom left for the Texas Rangers on Friday night it was clear the Mets were going to make a move for another Ace, and here it is. They are now pairing Verlander and Scherzer back together from their time in Detroit where they spent five seasons together (2010-2014). The next move for the Mets to make will most likely be for a positional player with CF still a massive question mark moving forward for the club, especially if Brandon Nimmo signs elsewhere.
