The New York Mets have made multiple coaching adjustments in the recent days. Their hitting coach Eric Chavez has been promoted to bench coach, making him their 7th bench coach in as many years. The bench coach from last year, Glenn Sherlock, has been moved to a catching instructor whose main focus will be on controlling the runners on base. Lastly, Jeremy Barnes has been promoted to Chavez's old position as the club's hitting coach.
