Over the past couple weeks the New York Mets have spoken with all of the top free agent pitchers. This Includes reigning Cy Young winner Justin Verlander, San Francisco opt-out Carlos Rodón, and Japanese star Kodai Senga. The Mets are also continuing conversations with their ace Jacob deGrom. They would like another ace to pair with Max Scherzer, like they had to end the season last year. Thanks to billionaire owner Steve Cohen, the Mets can't be counted out of any free agent opportunity. Even if they sign one of these players, they will still need to acquire a #3 starter to bolster their rotation.
